Every Christmas my parents sent cards with a Christmas scene from a medieval manuscript.  All have wonderful decorative borders that I thought would make charming earrings!   I made this pair from a card showing a scene of the Shepherds in the Field from a 15th century French manuscript.   

The backs are painted in a bright gold mica paint.  Both sides are protected with several coats of resin. 

The tiny ice pick bails and French Hook earwires are gold-plated brass.
