Deep gladness is what I aspire to in my life and what motivates my artistic journey. Currently I am most drawn to painting expressively and playing with greater abstraction while still referencing the real world.  I enjoy making paintings that are exuberant, vibrant and whimsical.  I am excited by pushing color, pattern and texture. I keep on being drawn to flowers – both real and imaginary - as my main subject, because they are fun to paint and make my heart sing.

I work mainly in pastel and mixed media.  Pastels are my first love: I love them especially for their vibrancy and immediacy.  For the past year or so, however, I have been engrossed by the creative possibilities of combining acrylics with homemade collage papers. I am grateful that acrylics – like pastels – are a forgiving medium, which facilitates my growing desire to paint more intuitively.

When not doing art, I currently have a small energy medicine and energy psychology practice in Concord, MA. As a clinical psychologist I worked for many years in corporate career management and psychotherapy. I am intrigued by the new research on neuroaesthetics and how practicing art is not only soul-satisfying but also pushes me to grow as a person.
