Every Christmas my parents sent cards with a scene from a medieval manuscript.  All have wonderful decorative borders that I thought would make charming earrings!   I made this pair from a card showing a scene of Noah's Ark from a 15th century French manuscript.   

The backs are painted in an antique gold paint.  Both sides are protected with several coats of resin. 

The tiny ice pick bails and French Hook earwires are gold-plated brass.

Total length:  1 11/16 inches

Bead size:  1 inch long by 5/16 inches wide.
