This painting developed from some initial brush strokes and collage -- and then I saw the face of a "creature" and its body emerging -- I refined it with hand-painted papers, and then gave it a world to dwell in with plants and layers of papers made from leaves/ferns from my Vermont backyard. Clearly it was a creature with a story to tell....
